PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Effective: September 24, 2026

CoverPets Creative Inc. (“CoverPets,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use CoverPets.ca, place an order, contact us, participate in a CoverPets program, or otherwise interact with us.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with CoverPets, we may collect:

  • Contact and account information, such as your name, email address, phone number, organization, city or region, and information associated with a customer, partner, rescue, or program account.
  • Order information, such as your order number, selected package, voucher or referral information, payment status, approval history, revision requests, and delivery status.
  • Pet content, including photographs, pet names, stories, personality details, habits, memories, and other information you choose to submit for creative purposes.
  • Memorial information submitted for CoverPets Forever, which may include stories and information about a pet that has died. Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive information about people.
  • Partner and program information provided by rescues, Working Heroes organizations, referral partners, campaign participants, and other organizations that work with CoverPets.
  • Communications you send through our forms, including general inquiries, support requests, privacy requests, feedback, and other correspondence.
  • Technical information, such as IP address, browser or device information, pages visited, security events, cookies, and similar website-use information that may be collected automatically by our website, hosting, analytics, security, or anti-spam tools.
  • Payment-related information. Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. CoverPets does not need to receive or store your full payment card number to process a standard online payment.

2. How we use personal information

We use personal information for purposes that include:

  • creating, revising, approving, delivering, and supporting personalized CoverPets artwork;
  • processing orders, payments, vouchers, discounts, referrals, and partner attribution;
  • communicating with you about an order, inquiry, partnership, program, or privacy request;
  • operating CoverPets Rescue, CoverPets Forever, Working Heroes, partner, referral, and campaign programs;
  • maintaining customer and order history where reasonably useful for support, reprints, corrections, or customer-requested follow-up;
  • protecting the website and our services from spam, fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats;
  • improving our services, workflows, website, and customer experience;
  • meeting legal, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, and other legitimate business obligations; and
  • using content for marketing, gallery, portfolio, or social-media purposes only where the required permission has been obtained.

3. AI-assisted creative tools

CoverPets may use AI-assisted creative tools and other technology service providers to help create, edit, prepare, or deliver personalized artwork. When needed to provide the service, pet photos, pet-profile details, creative instructions, or other submitted content may be processed through those tools.

We aim to provide only the information reasonably needed for the creative task. You should submit only photos and information that you own or have permission to provide for this purpose.

4. Customer photos, stories, and gallery consent

Your submission of photos and pet information for an order allows CoverPets to use that material to create and deliver the requested artwork and provide related customer support.

Permission to use a customer's pet photos, stories, or finished covers publicly is separate from the permission needed to fulfill an order. Where CoverPets asks for gallery, social-media, advertising, sample, or portfolio permission, that permission is optional unless clearly stated otherwise. We do not treat purchase of a CoverPets product by itself as permission for public promotional use.

If you later ask us to stop future promotional use of content for which you previously gave permission, we will handle the request reasonably, recognizing that material already printed, shared by others, or incorporated into previously published materials may not always be fully retractable.

5. When we share information

We do not sell personal information to advertisers. We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate CoverPets, such as website hosting, email delivery, payment processing, file storage, security and anti-spam services, analytics, and AI-assisted creative tools. These providers may process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, prevent fraud or misuse, enforce agreements, respond to lawful requests, or support a business transaction such as a reorganization or sale of assets.

6. Payments

Online payments may be handled by a payment processor such as Stripe. Payment processors may collect payment-card, billing, device, and transaction information directly from you. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy and security practices.

7. Cookies, analytics, security, and anti-spam tools

CoverPets.ca and its service providers may use cookies, server logs, security technologies, analytics, and anti-spam tools to operate the site, remember preferences, understand site performance, prevent abuse, and protect forms from automated submissions. Depending on our configuration, this may include services such as Cloudflare Turnstile or similar tools.

8. Marketing communications

Where required, we obtain appropriate consent before sending promotional electronic messages. Transactional or service messages — for example, order updates, payment requests, requested support responses, or program communications — are different from promotional marketing messages.

You may use the Contact form to ask us to update your communication preferences.

9. Cross-border processing

Some service providers may store or process information outside your province or outside Canada. When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction.

10. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes for which it was collected, including production, revisions, customer support, reprints where applicable, accounting, legal obligations, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and security.

Retention periods can vary by type of information. When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to legal and technical requirements.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. No website, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Please do not send passwords, full payment card numbers, government identification, or unnecessary sensitive personal information through our general website forms.

12. Access, correction, deletion, and consent choices

Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, you may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, ask questions about how it is handled, request deletion where appropriate, withdraw certain consent for future use, or raise a privacy concern.

Some information may need to be retained despite a request — for example, where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

13. Children

CoverPets services are intended to be purchased or submitted by adults or by people who are otherwise authorized to provide the submitted content. We do not knowingly design our order and contact processes to collect personal information directly from young children.

14. Third-party websites and services

Our website may link to third-party websites or use third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

15. Privacy questions, requests, and complaints

To ask a privacy question, request access or correction, withdraw applicable consent, request deletion where appropriate, or raise a privacy concern, use our Contact form and select Privacy Request.

Please do not include passwords, payment card numbers, government identification, or unnecessary sensitive information in your request. We may need to verify your identity before responding to certain privacy requests.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, practices, or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted on CoverPets.ca with its effective date.

17. Consent and applicable law

By providing personal information to CoverPets, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. Where consent is required by applicable privacy law, we seek consent appropriate to the circumstances. This policy is intended to support our obligations under applicable Canadian privacy laws and does not limit rights you may have under law.
