Wondering how CoverPets works? Here’s what to expect, from sharing your pet’s story to receiving their finished covers.

How does CoverPets work?

Start by completing our order form, uploading clear photos of your pet, and telling us about their personality, habits, and favourite things. Choose your favourite cover concepts or select “Surprise Me.”

We’ll create personalized magazine-style covers and send you a link to review your proofs. Once you’ve approved your covers and completed payment, you’ll receive your finished, high-resolution files.

When do I pay?

For custom cover orders, you review your proofs before paying. Once you’re happy with your covers, we’ll send you a payment link. Your print-ready, high-resolution files are delivered after payment.

If your order is fully covered by a valid promotion or program benefit, no payment is required.

What will I see when I review my proofs?

Your proofs are lower-resolution, watermarked previews that let you review the design, headlines, and your pet’s appearance.

After approval and payment, you’ll receive the finished, high-resolution covers without the preview watermark.

Can I request changes before approving?

Yes! If a name is misspelled, a headline doesn’t quite fit, or something about your pet’s appearance needs attention, let us know before approving. Your feedback helps us get their story right.

What photos should I upload?

Choose clear, well-lit photos that show your pet’s face, colouring, and distinctive markings. Several photos from different angles are helpful.

Tell us about any details you especially want us to preserve, such as a unique patch of fur, ear shape, or eye colour.

Do you only create covers for dogs and cats?

Dogs and cats are welcome, along with birds, rabbits, reptiles, and horses! Available concepts vary by pet type, and we use your photos and stories to personalize the result.

Are the covers digital or printed?

Our standard cover packages include digital files. You can share them online or have them printed for framing, gifts, or a special place in your home.

Can I request a different print size?

Yes. Let us know the size you need when ordering. If you need another size after delivery, contact us and we’ll regenerate it free of charge.

What is CoverPets Rescue?

CoverPets Rescue helps rescue animals get noticed, find homes, and support the organizations caring for them.

We work with participating rescues to create covers that showcase adoptable pets and their personalities. Rescue partners can also run fundraising campaigns, giving supporters a way to order personalized covers while supporting the rescue.

How does a rescue fundraiser work?

Order through a participating rescue’s campaign link and follow the usual CoverPets process. The campaign page explains how much of each qualifying purchase goes back to that rescue.

You get a cover celebrating your pet, and the rescue receives support for its work.

What is a Welcome Home voucher?

Participating rescue partners may provide adopters with a Welcome Home voucher worth up to $20 toward a CoverPets order. Our hope is that rescue partners can generate covers promoting their adoptables.

It can cover one standard digital cover or reduce the cost of a larger package. Vouchers are valid for six months; check yours for its code and expiry details. A new pet owner will have lots of stories 6 months into having a new member join their pack – we want to see those stories!

What is CoverPets Forever?

CoverPets Forever celebrates the pets who remain part of our lives, even after we’ve said goodbye.

Using your photos and memories, we create personalized memorial covers that honour their personality, the moments you shared, and the love they leave behind. The Forever section also includes grief resources for people navigating pet loss.

Some pets stay forever.

Can a Forever cover include personal memories?

Absolutely. Tell us about their nicknames, favourite places, funny habits, family members, and the little things you never want to forget.

Your cover can be gentle, joyful, funny, or a blend of all three—whatever feels right for your pet and their story.

What is CoverPets Working Heroes?

CoverPets Working Heroes celebrates animals who serve and the bonds they build with the people around them.

This includes animals working in roles such as assistance, guidance, therapy, detection, and public service. Qualifying organizations and handlers can receive complimentary covers through the program.

Working Heroes partners can also use fundraising campaigns to help support their organization’s work. Contact us through the Working Heroes page to learn about participating.

Will my pet’s cover appear on your website or social media?

We ask for your permission before featuring your pet’s cover in our public gallery or promotional content. You can enjoy your covers privately without agreeing to have them shared.

What if there’s a problem with my finished files?

Because each cover is personalized and approved before payment, sales are final after payment for change-of-mind requests.
